Oops- I slipped!

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later... Today I used a swear word in front of the girls. It's not that they never heard a swear word before, but I don't think they ever heard me use one, in anger, directed at someone else. I didn't even realize I did it at first. But, I turned around and 2 big eyes were looking at me with shock! But, in my defense- I was yelling at a very ignorant man who was flying down my neighborhood street- clearly defying the 25mph speed limit! I am amazed everyday by the parents who pick their kids up from school and then throw all caution to the wind as they zoom away- putting all of us walking nearby in danger! I couldn't resist as I motioned for the man to slow down and he mocked me and kept going! You a#$h$*l%!!!!! I shouted! Oops! I am sorry to my girls who had to hear this but those of you who know me, know that I keep my language particularly clean. This was one "a-bomb" that couldn't be held back!

What Day is it Today??

Never before has a summer flown by so fast is this one has. Of course you may be thinking "summer isn't over yet, it is only the end of July". You obviously don't live in Chandler and attend our schools. Yup, we head back to school on Monday! Of course summers here are very hot and uncomfortable so we actually look forward to having a place to keep our kids busy for most of the day. Otherwise we have very long, boring and frustrating days. This summer the girls went to camp 3 days a week so that definitely helped. I worked 3 nights a week and on Saturdays and DH worked the other 2 nights a week. Now that school is starting up again, I am back to my day job as well starting this past Monday. New school for me this year, new position too. Very close to home and in the school library. Not bad, huh? Well, with my crazy schedule I can't even keep track of what day it is anymore. I worked Monday morning but not Tuesday but did work Tuesday night. I worked Wednesday morning and today and tonight. Is tomorrow Friday? I think so, I work in the morning and at night again so it must be. Are you confused? Don't feel bad- so am I!

"Life is hills and valleys..."

As my wonderful Aunt Joanie always tells me during the low points I stumble through from time to time, "Life is hills and valleys... sometimes you are at the top and sometimes you are at the bottom." She definitely has a point. Just last week she literally tumbled into her own valley- falling off her kitchen table and breaking her hip! By the next morning we were at her bedside, willing to do whatever she needed to comfort her and keep her company. It is now a little over a week since the surgery and she is climbing out of that valley like nobody's business! She is in a rehab center and is recovering quickly and is doing great! She is going to be back on top of a hill very soon-and hopefully at that time, she'll settle for the top of the hill instead of the top of a table!
